Louise Boyer

Louise Boyer is the founder of The Way of the Hummingbird. Her journey into osteopathy began after a riding accident left her with lasting back pain. It was the care of an osteopath that made her feel truly heard, seen, and healed—an experience that inspired her to dedicate her life to helping others in the same way.

Louise qualified from the British School of Osteopathy (now UCO) in 2012, immediately establishing her own practice while gaining experience in other clinics. Since then, she has built a thriving clinic rooted in a holistic and integrative approach.

With a deep passion for ancient wisdom traditions from Peru and Scandinavia, Louise weaves together osteopathy, shamanic practices, and coaching to create a unique pathway to healing. The Way of the Hummingbird is her vision for guiding people beyond modern conditioning and back to their roots—awakening the body’s innate capacity to heal. Through treatments, coaching, and wellbeing events, Louise’s mission is to help others thrive in their fullest health and highest potential.

Here, we honour both the ancient and the clinical. From one-to-one sessions to community-led experiences, our goal is simple: to help you feel seen, safe and whole.

My Journey

After suffering a significant back injury following a fall from a horse in her younger years, Louise began to experience increasingly debilitating pain as she got older. The pain was erratic and unpredictable, often leaving her feeling unheard and misunderstood. Like many people living with persistent pain, she struggled with the feeling that no one truly believed the extent of her symptoms.

Everything changed when she met fellow osteopath, Jonathan Butterworth. For the first time, Louise felt genuinely listened to, believed and supported. Through his care, she experienced not only physical relief but also the profound impact of being truly seen and understood.

It was at that moment that she found clarity in her own path. Through her experiences of pain and recovery, she realised she wanted to help others facing similar struggles—to provide the kind of compassionate, holistic care that had made such a difference in her own life.

This journey did not end with osteopathy.

In 2014, Louise met an Apache medicine man named Gianni, an encounter that would set her on an unexpected and deeply transformative path. Through her own healing, she has come to understand that pain often has roots that extend beyond the physical body. Her experiences with Gianni ignited a desire to explore the deeper emotional, energetic and spiritual dimensions of healing.

Shortly afterwards, she met her teacher, Wendy, and began her formal training as a shaman. She later continued her studies with Chris Waters of Spirit of the Inca and with Don Alejandro Apaza, founder of the Inca Medicine School, with whom she now has a close working relationship.

Today, Louise continues to immerse herself in the rich traditions of indigenous wisdom and healing. She has also felt a profound calling towards Nordic Shamanism—a path that speaks deeply to her ancestral roots and the grit, courage and resilience of her Viking lineage.

These shamanic practices have brought an additional dimension to her work, allowing her to support people through healing that extends beyond the physical body and into the emotional, energetic and spiritual aspects of wellbeing.

Louise firmly believes that healing is rarely about treating symptoms alone. It is about being heard, understood and supported as a whole person. Her own journey through pain, recovery and profound personal transformation enables her to walk alongside others with deep empathy and integrity.

More recently, another deeply personal chapter has further shaped her work. Following her own diagnosis of endometriosis, Louise once again found herself navigating the challenges of living with chronic pain, unpredictable symptoms and the emotional impact that can accompany a long and often misunderstood condition.

Drawing upon both her professional knowledge and lived experience, she has developed an even deeper understanding of what it means to feel unheard, to have your symptoms questioned, and to search for answers whilst trying to continue living life to the fullest.

This experience has ignited a growing passion to support other women facing similar journeys. Louise is increasingly dedicating her work to helping women living with endometriosis, persistent pelvic pain and complex chronic health conditions, offering a compassionate, whole-person approach that addresses not only the physical body, but also the emotional and energetic impact of long-term illness.

She believes that no one should have to walk these journeys alone. Through osteopathy, coaching and her holistic healing practices, she hopes to empower women to better understand their bodies, feel truly heard and supported, and reclaim a sense of trust, strength and possibility in their lives.

It is this lived experience that sits at the heart of her work today. Louise's own experiences of injury, chronic pain, trauma, healing and transformation allow her to meet others not only as a practitioner, but as someone who truly understands the courage it takes to heal. She is certain that without the teachings, practices and tools she has gathered along the way, she would not have navigated some of life's greatest challenges with the strength, resilience and grace she has found, and it is now her calling to walk alongside others as they find their own path back to health, wholeness and themselves.

Expert Kinesologist

Clare

Clare Taylor’s journey into kinesiology and energy medicine began 25 years ago when she was introduced to kinesiology by her yoga teacher and good friend, Kate. Clare was always intrigued at how Kate could find stories of the past held in her body through simple muscle testing, and release unconscious emotional issues by holding points on her body whilst thinking specific thoughts. Clare always left the sessions feeling lighter, clearer, connected to her body and a general sense wellbeing and balance.

Clare’s interest in alternative medicine and ancient wisdom increased when she experienced Traditional Chinese medicine whilst living in Taiwan. A motorcycle accident left her with a knee injury. She sought out a Chinese Doctor, who released the pain completely through acupressure, herbal medicine and dietary recommendations.

Clare’s working career has been varied, working in many countries and a variety of industries. She initially trained in design and silversmithing, then moved in to retail management, charity work, 3rd sector, art galleries and museums and teaching. When her children were young, Clare retrained as an Engineer. In her “spare time”, she qualified as a yoga teacher (2013), a shamanic practitioner (2024) and a Functional Kinesiologist (2025). This combination reflects the main facets of her personality; the logical and methodical problem solver, and the spiritual, intuitive, connected helper.

Clare’s energetic and healing work expresses her connection inwards, to the body-mind connection and inner wisdom. The joy Clare gets from this is helping others slow down, to see, listen and feel what is going on in their own bodies, recognising their own needs, leaving refreshed and rejuvenated.

Clare’s silversmithing and engineering traits allow her to envision a journey from start to finish, from sheet metal and wire to art, from mess to beauty, from chaos to process. Always changing something illogical or confusing into something better, something that makes more sense. Change and improvement.

Clare has merged these areas of expertise and is applying it to wellness and wellbeing. Having experienced personal transformation through kinesiology and energy work, Clare is keen to support others on their journey to their true selves, both physically and emotionally.
