Osteopathy FAQs

What should I wear?

Loose and comfortable clothing is recommended.

You may end up feeling sore or a little out of sorts for a day or so after treatment. This is known as a healing crisis and indicates that you have responded well to treatment. Ensure you rest, eat nourishing food and hydrate.

No, if you are not comfortable with this then we have plenty of other treatment modalities that can be called upon to bring about lasting and positive changes

Whilst it can be a really powerful and useful treatment modality, if you have a condition that prevents this, or you simply aren’t comfortable with it being done then we can tailor your treatment plan to suit your needs.

Yes – we have a fantastic software that allows us to create bespoke exercise plans for each of our patients.

Shamanic Healing FAQs

What can I expect from a session?

You will bring yourself and be invited into sacred space, where you will be held safely by your practitioner. You are encouraged to notice what might be up in your life for healing and what needs to shift in order for you to move forwards. You will then be guided gently to track back to the root of the issue so that it can be transformed from this place. Various techniques can and will be brought into the session, depending on what comes up for you.

Absolutely – we thoroughly encourage you to tap into your emotions during these sessions – the deeper the dive into the issue, the more profound and long lasting the change will be

Yes – absolutely! We ask you to only let go of what no longer serves you. Shamanism isn’t a religion, but more a way of life that helps us connect to ourselves and the earth.

No – a god shamanic practitioner will work to shift heavy energy that is in the wrong place, but we never dabble and we always work with the highest intention and with our client’s ultimate wellbeing in mind.

Whilst it is not yet a regulated practice, a good shamanic practitioner will have gone through rigorous training and personal work before being able to work with clients. Our practitioners have years of combined experience with leading teachers in the UK and Europe and have been trained by the Apaza family in Peru – world renowned medicine men and women of the Andes with generations of vast knowledge.

Massage FAQs

Is clinical massage right for me?

Clinical massage is suited to persistent or long term (chronic) musculoskeletal pain. Pain is described as chronic when it has persisted beyond the usual healing time. This approach is effective with most types of chronic pain including; back pain, sciatica, neck pain, whiplash, migraines, knee pain, neck and shoulder pain, tendon issues.

This will depend on the length of time you have been in pain, your end goal and needs,  Generally I aim to reduce your pain and increase your movement within 1-6 treatments.

After your first massage you will experience a boost in mood, feel more empowered, capable and regain trust in your body. Around session 3, you will feel and observe a notable improvement. Once you see a consistent reduction in pain that lasts between treatments, you can increase the time between treatments, finally moving to maintenance treatments when a reduction in pain has been fully achieved.

Trigger point work can feel intense but it should never feel unbearable. I always work within your comfort level and encourage open communication throughout your session.

You may be asked to undress, with towels and drapes used for modesty. For Scarwork and Kinesiology, light stretchy clothing (like gym wear) is ideal. I’ll guide you on what’s best for your session.

We’ll start with a chat about your health and goals, followed by an assessment and your tailored massage treatment. At the end I’ll give you aftercare advice.

A session usually lasts between 60-90 mins

Some insurers do cover Clinical massage and Kinesiology. It’s best to check your individual policy. I can provide a receipt.

Scarwork is a specialised therapy that gently works with scar tissue to improve comfort, mobility, and appearance. Unlike a general massage, it focuses specifically on the changes scar tissue can cause in the skin, muscles, and surrounding tissues.

Most scars can benefit from scarwork once they are fully healed and your doctor has confirmed there are no complications. I always assess each scar individually and adapt techniques for safety and comfort.

Typically, scarwork can begin once the scar is fully closed and your medical team confirms it’s safe — usually 8 weeks after surgery.

Absolutely. Even older scars can change and benefit from treatment. Clients are often surprised at the improvements possible.

It’s always a good idea to let your oncology team know, especially if you’re in active treatment. I can also work alongside your medical team to ensure everything is safe and supportive.

No — oncology massage is adapted to support you through treatment, without interfering. Sessions are tailored to your energy levels and any medical devices or treatment areas.

Yes. Massage is carefully adapted around medical devices and with lymphedema precautions in mind. Safety and comfort always come first.
